We marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day on 8 May. The weather was on our side and it was a fabulous day full of family fun.

There was some amazing sandcastle building… it was such a close competition! Congratulations to all the entrants.

Everyone enjoyed live music by Pete and Rick, facepainting by Fran and tattoos & games by Anya and Rachel.

Ice creams (Sundaes), pizzas and a fabulous VE cake by The Singing Kettle went down a treat.

We respectfully held a minute’s silence before the cutting of the cake to reflect and remember the sacrifice of others
